We’ve been down here for over a week and the only thing grandma had heard on the radio is that martial law had been declared. In addition to this it was confirmed that it wasn’t just here that this was happening, it was everywhere….the worlds over. There’s no way we can stop these things, we can’t stay here either.
Before anyone else woke up this morning I was going to leave and try to look for any kind of help.
When I opened the door though, I immediately regretted my decision.
There were Fires and debris everywhere. Everything was gone, not a single house stood for as far as I was able to see. Considering the amount of smoke around me though, that wasn’t very far.
There were no more screams, but it still seemed unbearably loud.
I started rummaging through the debris surrounding what used to be the backyard.
I found shoes, pieces of metal and even a few animals. I wasn’t looking for anything really; I just needed to let it sink in.
This was their world now. We weren’t ready for this.
