The sky split open and there was nothing but darkness for what seemed like an eternity.
I noticed the darkness was almost…moving, like strands of hair. After that everything got quite, quieter than it ever was. I’d give anything to have the peace of that silence again. I thought it sounded crazy in my head and now that I’m writing it down, thinking back to that day, it’s still hard to believe. But what happened after was something no one could imagine. They came down from the sky like ropes of smoke, once they hit the ground though, the reality of what was happening set in. This was the end. Call it god’s wrath, divine intervention of a failing world or the Rapture if you want. In the end it only meant one thing. EXCTINCTION. Over half the world’s population wiped out in just twenty four hours.
